Description
New from the portfolio of Carl Walther GmbH Walther PDP = Performance Duty Pistol is a universal weapon suitable for service, defense and sports use.
The PDP range is produced in two frame size versions. Full Size (barrel length 4", 4.5", 5") and Compact (4" and 5") for now only in 9 mm Luger caliber.
The main difference is the length of the handle. While the PDP Full Size holds an 18-round magazine and has a longer grip to accommodate shooters with larger hands,
PDP Compact models practically copy the shorter handle of Walther PPQ pistols in length and hold a magazine for 15 cartridges.
The basic technical data of the Walther PDP Full Size 4" is 143 mm high, 34 mm wide and the overall length of the weapon is 189 mm.
The most striking element of the massive finish are the enlarged fretboards called SuperTerrain for better control. These greatly facilitate handling with and without gloves in all weather conditions.
All PDP pistols are so-called Optics Ready = they are ready for the installation of pistol collimators.
The cover plate of the base of the collimator exactly copies the profile of the bolt, and after unscrewing it, pistol collimators of practically all leading manufacturers can be installed using the appropriate adapters.

Superior sights are a combination of a low adjustable sight in both axes and a prismatic front sight. For faster targeting, the sights are equipped with white dots.
The 102mm long barrel with a polygonal bore has a 1/10" pitch and a graduated chamber (called Luger recoil) to ensure consistent initial bullet velocities and high functional reliability.
The improved new Performance Duty Trigger features a very smooth and smooth action with 25 N resistance and a short reset of 7 mm / 11 N.
By the way, this trigger is rated as the best in its category = "Best in Class"
An ergonomic handle with a surface texture made of pyramids ensures a good grip of the weapon. This is an ideal compromise for a quality grip with/without gloves even under degraded conditions = sweaty, frozen hand.
The three slanted large finger grooves in the front of the handle are designed to increase the versatility of the weapon's grip for any hand.
The shooter can also fine-tune the grip with the help of three interchangeable grip spines.
The modularity of the weapon is also increased by the Picatinny mounting rail for installing additional devices and the push button magazine release with selectable orientation.
