Its handle with a protective guard and finger choil (just like the new version of our machete) adds protection for close handling.
The pommel has a wide overhang for striking.
The specially designed tip allows for piercing as well as cutting. This feature can be useful for survival purposes.
Notches on the top of the blade prevent slipping when batoning.
